Processing of Personal Data

Purpose of the Foundation

The purpose of the foundation is to support and develop relations between Sweden and Belgium. It should thus i.a. promote scientific research and all culture and arts by, among other things, providing support for teaching or training for either Swedes in Belgium or Belgians in Sweden.

Purpose of personal data processing

The personal data, provided in connection with an application for a scholarship, is handled by the Foundation's personal data controller. The personal data may also be processed for the foundation to be able to fulfill its obligations under law, other constitution or authority decision. Such processing can be handling of the personal data to fulfill the requirements according to accounting and money laundering laws, reporting to the Swedish Tax Agency, Financial Inspection and other authorities.

The personal data will not be shared with other organizations and will be treated confidentially by the board members only.

Categories of personal data

The personal data applies to applicants for scholarships, and may include name, address, social security number, telephone number, email address, bank and account details, CV, profession, work or research area, organization, association or university.

Disclosure of personal data

For the stated purposes, the personal data may be submitted to Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ), 502032-9081 ("SEB") which, for the Foundation's account, manages certain administration, e.g. accounting and payment of scholarships.

Personal data storage

The personal data is stored for as long as needed with regard to the purpose of the processing, and for the Foundation to be able to fulfill its obligations under law. If a scholarship is granted, the personal data will be stored until the last payment has been made and then as long as the current year +6 years. If a scholarship is not granted, the personal data will be saved for no longer than two calendar years.

The personal data is stored in "iDrive" or similar electronic data storage by the personal data controller and is temporarily available to the board members in connection with the Foundation's board meetings.

Applicants' rights

Applicants have the right to receive information about which personal data are processed by the Foundation and thus have the right to have their personal data disclosed or deleted or have personal data sent to another legal entity.
